Medical Disclaimer
What this site is for, what it is not for, and where the line falls.
Severe abdominal pain, heavy bleeding, dizziness or fainting, shoulder-tip pain, a fever with pelvic pain, or any severe pain with a positive pregnancy test all need urgent medical assessment today — not a web page. Contact your doctor, your maternity unit, or your local emergency service.
Information, not medical advice
Everything on Ovulation.guide is general information about ovulation, fertility and early pregnancy. It is not medical advice, it is not a diagnosis, and it does not create a clinical relationship of any kind. It cannot account for your medical history, your medication, your test results or your examination findings — all of which change what any general statement means for you.
Always speak to a qualified doctor, midwife, nurse or pharmacist about your own situation. Never delay seeking medical advice, or disregard advice you have been given, because of something you read here.
The calculators are estimates
The ovulation calculator and the due date calculator are calendar models. They project dates from the inputs you give them using published averages for the luteal phase, sperm survival and gestation length. They do not measure anything about your body.
They cannot detect whether ovulation occurred, whether a cycle was anovulatory, whether a pregnancy is viable, or whether ovulation arrived earlier or later than projected. Their output should be treated as a testing window to confirm — with cervical mucus, an ovulation test, a temperature chart, or an ultrasound — not as a fact.
Do not use this site as contraception. Calendar-based methods have a substantial failure rate even when used carefully, and this tool is not designed, tested or validated for pregnancy prevention.
Accuracy and currency
Guides are written against guidance current at the review date shown on each page, and are checked periodically. Medical guidance changes, and guidance also differs between countries — thresholds for investigation, recommended supplement doses and food safety advice all vary. Where our guidance is UK- or US-specific we try to say so, but your own national guidance takes precedence.
We make no warranty that the information here is complete, current or applicable to your circumstances. If you spot an error, please tell us.
Third-party links and products
External links, including to guidance bodies and journals, are provided for reference. We are not responsible for their content and a link is not an endorsement. Where a product is named — an ovulation test brand, for example — it is because people search for it by name, not because we recommend or are paid by it. We do not sell products and we do not use affiliate links in our guides.
Limitation of liability
